my WP server is local as our SMTP so I'm trying to understand why I need to use 3rd party provider (such as Mailgun) to send emails inside the company.

2. Your answer is very informative for me, but my IT guys don't understand (?) what exactly they need to do (add something on our side, provide something on Mailgun side)..
