I am using WP-Mail-SMTP to send mail through my site and have reviewed the workaround in this forum conversation: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/use-of-wp_mail?replies=13

I would prefer to implement this in a way that doesn't edit the core plugin files. Is that possible and, if so, can you please provide instructions on how to do that?
